This amp is about 10 years old, but very little actual use. It has a rattle suddenly, after sitting for several years. Any advice? Thanks in advance

Check all the screws, amp chassis, speaker, etc

I bought one about 10 years ago and after owning it for a few months it developed a strange rattle in the tweeter. I checked and tightened everything up with no luck. It sounded great but there have been several stories like this with this amp.

Amps will rattle for various reasons. Seasonal changes that bring dryness and humidity can cause changes in joints And the speaker mounting. Fasteners can loosen and need checking from time to time to ensure that they are tight enough.

Be careful with the speaker fasteners. Too tight and you can over compress the gasket that is between the speaker frame and the baffle. You can also warp the speaker frame. The TB Portaflex wiki describes one way to mount a speaker:

At one point, some of the BA series amps has an issue with cabinet rattles. Check out this thread and see what Loud did to remidy the issue.
