Ampeg BXT 2x10 cab - Anyone got one?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Lokire, Nov 11, 2004.

  1. Just wondering what people think of this cab, or the BXT series in general. Seems to me that it can't be bad considering it's ampeg and at least partially designed by Victor Wooten (one of my favorite bassists).

So does anyone here who owns one or has played through one have any opinions or a review of it?

    Cheers :bassist:

Bass Player did a review of the cab in a recent issue. Go to www.bassplayer.com and check out the gear review archives for a link to the review.

I have a 115 and a 410, I love them. Modern loud cabs with decent tweets (not many smoother, and way cleaner than most) that have the capability of classic ampeg growl.

I'd imagine the 2x10 is a great 2x10. Before I added the 115 I thought about adding the 2x10 to the 410 but realized more lows is what I needed. A 115+210 would be a great setup as well.

I've often considered the 2x10 for home/practice. It and a small head (ampeg portabass maybe?) would probably be just as good and take up less room than my bassman 400.
