New to this forum,...so hello to all!!
Any thoughts on how to run this Ampeg BXT410HL4 cab at 8 ohms rather than 4 ohms and how that will that effect performance.
    I'm concerned about the crossover ;-O....should I be ???

I have SVT 3Pro and it runs the 410 just fine @ 4ohm.
Thinking that I'd like to add a 15" cab for the outdoor festival gigs, I came across a B115E, which is 8 ohms. It was great deal but,....I don't want to run both cabs [2.67ohm load] off that amp.
I do like Ampeg gear, played B15 for many years of R&B in clubs and juke joints throughout the South.
    All suggestions welcome !
    Thanks,
    kjp

  2. Welcome !

    Now the bad news................

You cannot change a 4 ohm cab to 8 ohms (and vice versa) without changing the speakers.

Also, the combination of a 4X10 mixed with a 1X15 is a poor one. Plenty of threads here on TB about the why's.

Ughhh, I was afraid of that...so re-wiring/re-routing is not possible to change resistance to 8 ohm in that cab ???

The previous poster is correct - you cannot run it at 8 ohms without replacing the speakers. I have a BXT-410HLF, but I've always run it at 4 ohms as that is what it is rated for.

BTW, I've run 4X10s with a single 15 with no problems in the past, though now I run a 15 with 2 10's in my rig. I biamp it, so it works for me. Others may not feel the same way, and as noted, there are plenty of threads here in TB about it if you care to search.

Hi I'm in Chapel Hill/Durham area!
    I'm gigging with 2 bands--one a straight ahead loud-ish blues band.
I've read thru the 410/115 post and opinions; all interesting and helpful.
I'd been using either the 410 or the 115 for awhile depending on gig. But what I wanted when I was using just 410, was a deeper sound for the stage.
Typically, the FOH takes line out and pushes bass out to the house/amphitheater
And it usually sounds pretty good!
But on stage [forget the monitors] the band can't get that low bump that we like to settle into to. We do tend rehearse at lower levels than stage.
So, I guess its finding a 410 8 ohm cab ;-( if we need that kind of combo
    thoughts ???
