Ampeg Dan Armstrong Bass, Mint, $575!!!

Discussion in '[OLD FORUM] Bass Guitars, Amps, and Accessories: F' started by Moondog, Jun 4, 2002.

  1. Ampeg Dan Armstrong lucite reissue bass in perfect, unplayed condition. This bass has a gorgeous "smoked" see through finish. It retailed for $1599.00 and comes with a gig bag. It has a very powerful, aggressive bottom end and incredible sustain. These basses were used by Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath and Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy. Very easy to play and balances perfectly. 24 fret rosewood neck. The electronics are very high quality and extremely versatile, there are 2 pickups made by Kent Armstrong that you can change in seconds. Each pickup consists of two independent coils, one for low frequency reproduction, and the other for high frequencies and upper harmonics. So there are 2 interchageable pickups, each voiced differently (low bass and bright bass pickups) and each pickup has high and low coils!!! The tone control is not your typical cheap garden variety tone control, but is actually a "mixer", allowing the player the ability to blend the high and low coils in any degree, resulting in an amazing range of bass tones. The solid rosewood bridge couples directly to the bridge plate, adding warmth and sustain, and has brass inserts calibrated for precise intonation. This bridge (as well as the electronics)have been vastly improved over the older models. These basses are no longer being made and are very collectible as Ampeg only made them for 3 years.

Reduced to $495. This is an incredible deal.
