How many of you have a PF-500 and have not experienced any problems?

I'll start. I've owned mine for 1.5 years. I practice most every week with the occasional show. No problems to date.
  2. I have one that has been problem free. Have pushed it very hard into a demanding cabinet(s). No problems.

I could've posted in this thread had you started it 2 weeks ago. :'(

Haha yeah I'm hoping that posting in this thread doesn't curse me. :)

I've had a PF-500 for about a year and a half now, done dozens of gigs, no problems yet. I've run it through various speaker configs- 2x10, 2x10 + 1x15, 1x15 + 1x15, and currently a 4-ohm 2x12. I guess I've never had to push it REAL hard. Most ever was probably gain at 2:00, volume at noon.

Fortunately this thread just started today!! Could you imagine if this thread was 2 years old!!
  7. Mine has been fine, although it hasn't been pushed anywhere near the limit.

What I find curious about this issue is how many people have the cutout problem, they notify Ampeg, and Ampeg says it's a defect. It seems to me that so many people have the same issue that perhaps it is part of the design of the amp -- if you push it too hard it cuts out. If it's really a defect, they've got a big manufacturing quality problem.

With the amount of problems it sure seems like this is the case

Wish I could play, but I only have a PF350. Had it since Sept of 2011 and even dropped it a good one a couple times...still kicking.

  12. Been gigging with mine for just over 1 year now. No problems at all. I push it pretty hard sometimes too.

I can't add my name to the roll call, but I will say this...PFs are very nice sounding amps. Hope the bugs are out of the 800s

    I like this thread.
I am still on the fence about getting one.. I love the sound of Ampeg and miss the ease of my BA-115 I had...I actually tried a PF500 last month and it was hard to leave store. The sound I like and search for..the problems I have read shy me away..but then I hear these success stories and it makes me want to pull the trigger.
