Ampeg PF-50T tube amp head and PF-115HE cabinet in excellent condition. Grill cloth is spotless and neither have never been gigged. Selling because I'm switching to a lightweight GK rig. Detailed photos of scuffs attached. This is an older PortaFlex cabinet that does not fit the PF-50T inside as a flip top, but I will include the hardware required to secure the head on the lid (washers and longer screws). I've read that newer PortaFlex cabinets can fit it, but don't know the details. Local sale only, will not ship. I live in Fairfax, Virginia, and am willing to drive a couple hours to meet you in the middle.
Interested, I used to live in fairfax, went to Oakton hs and I’m old. Due for a trip south soon. Is there any of the amp noise that these heads are prone to. I just bought one in March and returned it to GC because of a bad hum. Still waiting on the replacement. Joe
Hey there, I actually live a few minutes away from Oakton High. Just listed Fairfax because more people know where that is. There is some amp noise, but nothing you can hear over my apartment's air conditioner running. Just let me know next time you're in the area and you can test your own bass on it.
Did some reading and this one doesn't have the issues people have mentioned. There is a low hum, but I've never had clicking or switching sounds.
They should be dead quiet. Does the noise increase with volume increase? Both inputs or just 1? Is it present with or without bass plugged in?
There's definitely a hum, including unplugged. Doesn't change with volume. I've ordered a new set of tubes to see if that's the issue, and will try isolating it better tomorrow.
Not trying to lowball you but if you’ll take $800 I’ll have my brother in McLean pick it up for me sight/sound unseen/heard. Joe
The PF-50T has a hum inherent to its design. People on TalkBass have recorded with the hum without issue. That being said, it can be modded as described here: Ampeg PF-50T Humbuster I am currently getting quotes for the mod, and will relist it if I get it done.
