Ampeg Portaflex 350 vs. GK MB200 vs. MarkBass Little Mark 250

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Ronnie Nine, May 7, 2016.

  1. Hello TB-ers!
For the past few hours I was researching these amps.
all I came up with is that they all have WAY different tones. Some people say that the GK despite having 200 watts, is more louder than the Ampeg using the same cabinet.
I would use one of them with a single 4x10 cabinet (maybe until I can afford another one.. which is like 1 year later maybe? or more)
How loud can they get? I heard really loud amps.. but for me , my old peavey tnt 130 can get very "loud" too.
Also, how do they sound? Which amp can be tweaked to achieve more tones?
    Thanks in advance.

If a TNT 130 is very loud to you, than any of those amps should suffice. I have a PF350, and while it's not the loudest amp I own, it's still 350w watts, which should be plenty loud for anything.

Jimmy, I like mine. Most of my amps I set at a conservative spot for gain and master, but I've read the PF350 doesn't follow that rule. Where do you like to run gain and master if you take it out of the house?

  4. I would stick to the ampeg to be honest, but really, if one amp is better than the other, I easily reconsider it.

If I'm looking to stay clean but with max balls, with a normal passive Fender or similar I'd put gain between noon and 1:00, higher if I want dirtier.
