Ampeg Portaflex 410 vs SVT classic 410

    I have two local opportunities for bass cabs. One is an SVT-410HE for $350 the other a PF-410HLF but this one includes a PF500 head for $450. Which would you guys choose? I only really need the cab but a back-up head wouldn't be a bad thing.

    Boy, that's a tough one. If it were cab vs cab I'd go 410he because the PF410hlf goes a lot lower and I prefer the voicing of the 410he, but the PF500 is a nice little sweetener.

    I talked to they guy w/ the portaflex amp & cab earlier today. Got him down to $375. Going to check it out on Thur. The cheapskate in me prevailed! It looks darn close to mint from the pic and when I priced them new it was $400 for the head & $550 for the cab.

    Dang, that sounds like a sweet deal if he hasn't wrecked the cab already ;)

    is it a 410he or 41he classic? One's 275
    W and the classic is 500W

    If it is in decent shape I would do the Portaflex deal in a minute. Even if you don't like the gear - for $375, you can flip it and easily break even. However when you see a deal like that you have to pause and wonder why. Either something is wrong, its stolen or the guy is desperate for cash. Hopefully it is the latter.

    I think you're thinking of the B410e for 275w. The SVT 410he's been 400w as long as I can remember.

    So the guy was supposed to be getting another amp from his bands guitar player and selling the portaflex. I got home from work to a message from him saying that the guitar player quit the band and took the other amp with him so now he's not selling the portaflex!! Happy frigging new year!!! Ok I'm over it just had to vent a little!!! Guess I'll check out the SVT!!
