Send an email to the people at Fliptops.net. They are very generous in answering emails. I know they recommend an Eminence Beta 15 for the B15 so maybe the Beta 12 might be a good place to start looking for the SB12.

I'm hoping to find an original. I'll ask them the model.

  6. CTS. You won't find one. They've been out of business for years.

The stock speaker was nothing to write home about. I've got an SB12 with an EV in it - not ideal, but still better than the old CTS. At some point I'd like to find the optimal driver for it - something pretty efficient because I think it's about a 30 watt amp. Great sound, though... ;)

Fliptops told me to get a Jensen C12N for it. I may try that.

All the Portaflex are limited by the cabinet size. I've been told by several old-schoolers that the JBL D- or E- series are pretty good for them.

Is this for bass use? My B-15N Portaflex is LFE challenged as it is...

I'm going for low volume recording and bedroom practice, mainly bass.

Update: I got a '65 CTS Squareback in another used amp. It sounds great in the SB-12. I realized after checkng the serial that it is not a '64 amp, but '65. That means I'm that much closer to full restoration. I now have to rewire it to connect through the latches. They put in a 1/4 " jack at one point.
