Hey, I have a guy offering to sell his Ampeg PR810H cabinet(retail 1700.00) that is a couple of years old for 600.00. It is in good shape, no tears, a little scratching on the back side. Good deal or keep looking? I have no cabinet to speak of at the moment(beginner with practice amp) but my cab will be serving dual purpose for my Roland V Sessions drum kit. Thanks for your help.

  2. I think that is a pretty good deal. If you pass up on it, let me know where he is located. ;-)

If this is the cab I'm thinking about,it weighs at least 200 lbs,so I hope you have a good back.I had a PR 410 years ago,and it's a fantastic sounding cab,but it weighed about 120 lbs.

  5. Been there done that. Scored one for $300 bucks. Needs a TON of juice to sound good, and man, if you feed it right, it roars. Had tone for days and days, but its unruly heavy. 212 pounds I think. It went out the door just as fast as it came in after my band split up. If you've got the muscle to move it, then by all means, snag it up, or if it's going to sit in a rehearsal space and not get moved, then buy it.

Ditto. I had the PR410 and it sounded awesome but it was a heavy beast.

  7. Where in W. Ten? Now they have the new interstate or whatever, it makes the trip to Memphis almost worth it...

  9. +1

Owned a PR8X10 when they first came out....sound like a million...feel like they weigh a million, too....

Finally sold mine in favor of the 6X10HLF

Worth 600?? If it's in decent shape - absolutely!

    Good luck!!

  11. totally worth it, even if you dont want it, sell it on ebay, ampeg alway hold thier woth youll get at least that for it, hell I dont have 600 bucks or the need/want for a 8x10 but for 600 I want one, try to talk him down to 500 ;) btw youll need like at least And I mean at least 500 watts, Id go with like 800 or straight 1000, see if you can borrow a amp this size and pound on this cab, really pound on it, see if you get any bad distorian, that may be why thier selling it

  12. I tried a buddies 500 watt head when I had that cab, and it sounded underpowered. I used my 1000 watter on it, and it seemed very happy. Probably could have handled way more.
