A tech friend of mine sent me this.....figured one or two of you might care OR it's already been posted and I am repeating old news. OR maybe its erroneous, but coming from this guy ( he does GREAT wah pedal mods for bass wahs) I highly doubt it is erroneous.

BTW - Loud Technologies (mackie) bought ampeg and crate, and shut down ALL field service. From now on it's complete replacement for
warranty. What this means: 1) The ampeg 5 year warranty is going
to go away 2) Ampegs will be a bitch to servcie... Mackies current service sucks.. 6 months wait is not uncommon. 3) I predict that the
Ampeg branch of loud will go out of business in about 3 years...
meaning if anyone wants anything ampeg.. buy it now...!!

I cannot get ampeg parts anymore.. so I am having to refuse non- warranty service for ampeg specific parts.. .only because their parts department is so screwed up.

Actually I think the part about them owning Ampeg is not new, but I think the service plan or whatever is.

Yea, I'm going to close this thread as this subject is still being beat to death in other threads.
