Ampeg Sound

    Would you guys say that the Ampeg cabs are imperative to the Ampeg sound? Cause i'm thinking maybe to get an Ampeg SVT II Pro and a Mesa Powerhouse 1000 cab. So do you guys think that the Ampeg cab is vital to the Ampeg sound, or you think it would sound good with the Mesa? Granted, i will of course try it out myself, but i was curious on your opinions.

    Of course heads are designed with their own cabs in mind, but they will definately work with other cabs. Like your thread said, try them!

    I have a ampeg head and cab, and when I mix and match them with my friends gear, (peavey and hartke) there is definatly a difference in sound, I like mine the best but everyone has their own opion

    yeah. Another idea i'm thinking of is maybe the powerhouse 1000 cab, a bass 400+ and an SVP-Pro for both Mesa and Ampeg sounds.

    i have an ampeg preamp and an swr cabinet.. sounds more ampeg than swr to me.... i think it does a good job.. but that's just my experience, not yours. you're gona try before you buy anyway.. so goodluck.
