Hi all!! I just buy a SVP-Cl and I have the PLX1202. I have not tried yet, i am waiting delivery of the SVP. Is there any issues with gain , sensitivity with this combination? thanks
It depends on your bass. Mine has a little bit of trouble driving my SVP-CL to my QSC USA900 at full power but it is close and my bass has a low output. I have no problem being heard so I don't consider it to be a problem.
thanks muzikman!! the stingrays are hot in their output, so I guess I should not have any problem! Also, the rest of my basses have high output, let see on the trials
The SVP-CL is not what I would call a high gain preamp, but any newer one from the last year or so should have sufficient gain to work fine with the QSC. The first run had a lower gain. Some people had trouble in combination with amps requiring higher inputs. The higher power units, from QSC and others, tend to need more input.
thanks!! I PM you with the QSC input specs, because i can not see any specs regarding this from the AMpeg SVPCL manual
while not exactly the same, i run an older model ampeg SVT-IIP tube pre into a QSC poweramp with no problems at all, in fact, the only difference in sound between my current setup and my old SVT-II head is the lack of warmth from the solid state power amp as opposed to the tube power from the SVTII head.
jerrold: THe one that i will receive, was shipped from ampeg last week to the Distributor, so I guess this one is a newer version. thanks for clarification
