Ampeg looks to have a bit more tone control and increased headroom.

I can get the Ampeg new for the same price as a used Aggie 750.. I want warm, fat and have the ability to have crisp and clear if i need it.. What are your guys' takes on the two amps.

Although the Ampeg is rated at a higher wattage, the reviews i've read on the DB750 seem to point out that the aggie pushes a lot more apparent volume than it's rated.

Reliability is always Job One in my book.

    I'm just sayin'...

  3. Screw that, find a Classic 400 and be done with it.

LB, reliability-wise I really don't know enough about either. I can not produce statistically defensible studies one way or the other. Just recommending you do the research before you buy, since neither of those amps qualifies as a "disposable."

As long as I'm back in this thread, I'll also recommend you factor resale value into your decision.
