Well, I can only give you what I know....

    I play a Fender J-bass through an Ampeg SVT-Classic.
I only use an Eden 2x10XLT for now, and it's incredible. The tone is so, so warm and beefy.

I've never played the SVT pro......I don't think anything comes too close to the Classic's tone. It's amonster...but it weighs a ton. It's worth it. I wouldn't play anything else.

By the way, can you recommend a good 15" speaker cab at 4 ohms? Are Avatar's really as good as everybody says?

I hope that helps you a little bit.

  4. It depends on what you're looking fro, my favorite is the SVT-CL but if you prefer the transistor sound go better for an SVT-IV...
