I have an ampeg BSE 115 that I have a chance to change out for a SVT 15. This change would cost me $70. I"ve read the specs and it doesn't look like there is any difference other than cosmetics. I don't think that the pretty cabinet and the "classic" logo are worth $70. I really don't go by specs though and was hoping that someone here has played on both and if there is any sound difference at all.

I've played them both and prefer the classic model. It sounded tighter and had more mid punch than the bse. At really high volumes with a five string the bse had more low end, but much less focus resulting in a flabby low b. I also prefer tolex to carpet covering.

Make the trade. I am definately not a fan of Ampeg's SVT cabinets, but I can tell you that you'll notice a difference over the BSE cabs.
