Ampeg SVT410HE vs 2x12 cabs?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by socalpyropunk, Nov 30, 2002.

  1. my current rig is a Carvin R1000 bridged 8 ohm into an ampeg SVT410HE. basically I'm looking for a louder setup while keeping portablility. as far as I'm concerned with all the shows my band has played the 810 Ampeg cab seems to be the standard. 6 of the 9 bands tonight had them but I'd like something a little more portable. I was thinking of going with a Aguilar 2x12 cab, or maybe a pair of those for larger venues. My other thought is just to replace my cab with an Eden 410xlt. Just curious on what your thoughts are on sound, tone, and volume between those setups. Any input would be great. thanks.
  2. get another 410HE and you will approximate what the 8x10 is with more portability. the sealed cabinet design is key to the 8x10's sound. try this - raise the he to ear level or slightly below and play a rehearsal with it. see what your bandmates say....
  3. that was another thought of mine. still not sure though...any other input?
