Ampeg V-4/V-4B...

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by jbandbabyj, Feb 28, 2003.

  1. Ok... so there's been a lot of threads about the V-4's lately and it's making me GAS for one. In looking around I've seen the V-4B and V-4 (no "b"). I was assuming that the "no B" version was a guitar amp, but they seem to be used pretty interchangably... can anyone tell me what's the difference?
  2. The V4 has reverb, the V4B does not. The V4 has a slightly different voicing in the first preamp section, like using a 0.01uF cap instead of a 0.1uF cap.

The V4 still sounds good for bass, and if need be can easily be converted into a V4-B.

  3. Thanks Chris... I appreciate the help. :)
