Ampeg v4-B Channels

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Basslice, Jan 8, 2012.

  1. I was looking at schematics for a V4 amp and had a question: There are two channels. Are each of the preamps for the two channels the same or are they different?

I am not an EE or a circuit guy. My uneducated reading of the schematic makes it seem like the two channels have different circuitry (as in non-repetitive) and different tube use. I always assumed the two channels were identical circuit paths.

  2. I only see the VT22 listed in your link (same as V4 only combo). No V4-B listed. So are you comparing channels in the V4 guitar amp or the V4-B bass amp?
  3. No. The link I gave is for the VT22, but it is basically the same amp as the V4 and the V4-B, the only real difference being the reverb unit.
