An interesting way of playing that made me better

It's kind of ironic. After deciding to play with the bass slung low and only anchoring my thumb on the pickup, I can play MUCH better sitting down! When I go back to using my moveable anchor, it sounds so much better because I'm taking much better advantage of my rests strokes and I'm more conscious of my left hand muting. And also, there's no more pain in my left hand! Because I had to adopt 124 fingering to cope with it standing, it's even more comfortable sitting down.

Just thought I would share that. Try it!

Nice to hear you are getting used to it. Apart from the restrictive nature of it on the fretting hand, the plucking hand wrist has a better time of it.
So just watch that the fretting hand wrist does not get over bent, keep the elbow pulled back and that will help keep the wrist straighter.
