Note sure if this goes here or in the sell/buy section, since I'm asking for advice and not selling/buying anything. So Mods, just throw this thread around as you see fit, sry if its misplaced.

A guy who rehearses in the same building as my band is selling his rig, a Yorkville 400B rackmount with a 4x12' cab, he bought them used for 1000$Canadian. When he bought it, it was practically new. Now he's had it for 6 months, he's asking 800$Canadian for the set.

The stuff seem to be in good order, I played it, it sounds great, looks exactly like what I need. Just wondering if some people here can give me a hint as to know if the price he asks is right.

    Thx! :D

I think his price is a bit high. That's the old Yorkville bass amp with the EQ sliders, isn't it? It was dependable enough but personally I found it very tough to get anything resembling a warm sound out of it. I think the new Yorkville/Traynor XS400 is a much better amp.

I don't know anything about that cabinet though. I've never played through it.

If it's working good and you've tried it out for yourself and that's the sound you like (and you're not just being impressed by loudness) then buy it, but try to knock about $150 off the price.
