The major league baseball team has just announced their new name:

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Okay, everyone can sit down now.

First they were the Los Angeles Angels, then the California Angels, then a few years ago they switched to the Anaheim Angels, and now the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Next is going to be the Angels Cougar Mellencamp. ;)

They should get "Mike Love's Beach Boys" to play there.

    :eyebrow:

Bad choice. Maybe the Nationals should be named the Montreal Nationals of Washington, D.C.

  4. Tonight's games: Boston at New York, Baltimore at Cleveland, Detroit at Los Angeles of Anaheim...

This reeks of The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

I recall looking at my early baseball cards with the California Angels.
A little later, I unertrhed some even earlier cards with Los Angeles Angels.
    Talk about confoozing a kid!

I guess in Spanish they would be Los Angeles de Los Angeles de Anaheim.

    Wow, that's horrific.

  14. Oh, man... this is terrible...

I've lived in Southern California my entire life, and I've been a fan since they were the California Angels when I was a little kid. I was pretty pissed when they went to the Anaheim Angels and changed from Angel Stadium to Edison Field, but this is just a bit too much. I think I might just have to throw my Angels hat out after this. But now if I can't watch baseball, and there's no hockey, what's a boy to do? Football? Ugh.... I can't. I'll just watch some old Leafs games I've got on tape.

Wasn't the Chicago Bears official media name changed to the Chicago Bears football brought to you by Bank of America or something like that?
