I have long been a fan of looking at art, but i guess i kinda figured that there must be something deeper than just the brushstrokes...

well, this leads me to my plea for help. I have been assigned to write a paper on the art (not music, some doo goody glitterbomb got that) of the Harlem Renaissance and i want to present this picture and analyze it for the class. I dont want to go in there looking like a complete n00b, so any help?

here is my theory on the picture shown below... The person being revered by the angels and people is "the new negro" as was written about in the time of the Harlem Renaissance. it is obviously mimicking the scene of christ during his crucifixion.

well, that is my take on it, what, may i ask, is yours?

    thanks,
