I'm going to the Pantera show in West Virginia :D. I was wondering if anybody else was going to see the show. Or what shows is everybody going to see over the summer when we have more free time ;)

I saw Pantera last summer at OzzFest. Damn near got killed, too. I'm not stupid enough to go into the pit for Pantera, (I don't do that anymore anyway, but that's another story) so I figured I would be safe at the front of the crowd. Now this is lawn seating at the Alpine Valley ampitheatre in Wisconsin, and, if you've never been there, at the very front of lawn seating is a dropoff of about 4 feet, down to a cement sidewalk, and then the metal bars that "protect" the people who bought seats in the pavilion. So there I am, standing in the VERY front with my buds, (man we are stupid) when the crowd surges forward a couple of times. Eventually, just about everyone fell off and on top of me and my buds! We managed to get up, but the crowd kept pushing forward, and we BROKE the friggin metal bar barrier and spilled into the pavilion. It was anarchy. We were getting beaten back by security like no tomorrow, and that's when we said "screw it" and watched from the top of the hill. Still, it was a great show.

As for this summer I'll be seeing Dave Matthews Band, Aerosmith, the Alkaline Trio TWICE, as well as various punk and idie rock shows.
  3. I saw Pantera at Ozzfest '97, Ozzfest 2000, on their Reinventing The Steel Tour and now I have my front row ticket to see them again this July on their Extreme Steel Tour with Slayer, Morbid Angel, Static-X, and Skrape. It should be an awesome show.

Pantera rules, i'd love to go see them live. But i'm too scared to hang out in those crowds. I'll stick with my sissy punk concerts thank you! :D
  6. i went to a pantera show last summer with my girlfriend ( i dont really care for pantera, but she did so i went anyway )
well the band was actually pretty good from what i assumed they were trying to sound like but man their fans are the most violent people i have ever seen
why are these people so pissed?
isnt their something better to do than go beat up people at a rock concert?
  7. Pantera should be coming to the UK this year, and then..well, I'll have a good time.
After Raging Speedhorn and Fear Factory, I think I can handle a Pantera pit.

i know i will be lmansted for this but I would only go see Pantera if it was on their Power Metal Tour or something before that. When Cowboys came out, I hated it. I still hate it and everything they have done since. I prefer their more straight up pretty boy metal they played on their first 4 LPs.

Their chugga chugga stuff makes me wanna puke.

But enjoy the show. They are bigger now than they ever were.

I will be seeing Cro-Mags pretty soon as well as Foetus and Journey.
  9. I say whatever floats your boat. I personally can't stand stuff like old Pantera(Pre-Phil Anselmo), or Iron Maiden etc. Hair Metal just doesn't do it for me.

awwwww man!! Pantera pits are the BEST! I've moshed to Pantera a whole bunch of times, but the bestest was when they were on their GSTK solo tour, IE, without White Zombie, and Neurosis and Clutch were opening. Woo hoo! That pit was EVIL. I couldn't move for a week after that.. hehe.. But, what was even better, was Jerry Cantrell came out and played on Walk. Oh yes, he did. ;)

Did anybody actually SEE the Pantera/White Zombie show with Eye Hate God? I was in heaven when they started the show with Suicide Note 1+2. There's something very creepy about sitting in the dark listening to Suicide Note 1 with allll these peoples around.

I saw that show in vancouver baroquebass .. it was awesome .. and I'm going to the show with slayer etc in like 2 months.
  13. Im going to the Warped tour when it comes to Boston. RANCID IS PLAYING! WOOH!
  14. Dude, I saw them last wednesday in Auckland, New Zealand on tour. I damn near got killed in the pit. So i stood in front of Rex for the rest of the gig.
(I caught one of his picks!)

They are on tour with Corrosion of Conformity and both bands kicked ass. Pepper Keenan sang with Phil on a few songs. The concert was great because they didn't play all their "hits" like "Cemetery Gates" and they played stuff like "slaughtered".

If you get a chance to see them, they are better than ever!

They played Slaughtered?? no way!! =( I've seen them like a trillion times and they never once played that. ohh well.. maybe someday.

hehe. I remember at a Metallica concert they were ROCKING with Master of Puppets, lots of energy, and then halfway through they stop and go right into (*yuck yuck*) Enter Sandman. Me and alot of other people basically had conniption fits on the spot. *sigh* at least they played Motorbreath.

Did you like Phil's first LP (Power Metal) with Pantera? That album crushes....but has dumb lyrics.
  17. Can't say that I have. I havent seen it in any music stores anywhere in my area, including some second-hand shops and specialist record dealers.

It was only release thru the band at about 500-1000 copies. I have the "official" bootleg of it and their 3 prior to it with Terry Lee on vocals.
