I once had impure thoughts. Oh, and I pluck my ear hair.
Nice! I'm in the process of finishing the sanding on my refinish job for my Tune Bass Maniac. The body features a highly figured top that is quite impressive. For the life of me, I have no idea why they felt the need to paint over it.

    Thanks Fred!

    ... I need a 10 stringer now.

    :meh:

  7. "Tune nut #1" eh?
    :D

Tune endorser Greg Lake mentioned something about Alembic being involved in Tune's design- is that Ron Wickersham in the second scan?

in the first copy of Guitarist magazine I bought from 1992 (an ad from which I ordered my first bass) there's a review of a beautiful Tune TWB Woodbass fretless (ebony board, piezo pickup)
I'd love one of those with lines.

Ya know, I never knew that... but I guess that would explain Susan Wickersham's cameo in one of the pix with Ron.

Planet -- you're refin-ing my old Tune? Cool -- post some pics when you're done!

I'm still digging the Tune Fretless I traded you, now strung with TI flats (huge difference!).

Yep - I was hoping you'd see that post! :D

If I can snag a digital, I'll take some shots once she's done. You would not believe the wood that lurks beneath that purple paint, man!

  14. the one reviewed in Guitarist was a blonde version, with lightly-flamed maple facing the body and headstock.
also the neck-most strap button was mounted on the rear of the upper horn (the one in that pic has some strange placements for the strap buttons  ).

I saw a blonde Woodbass in the Bass Centre Wapping- they had put heavy gauge (looked like Steve Harris style 50-110's) Rotosound flats on it :meh: -not the ideal recipe for mwah....

Some of the those resemble the Jackson Antigravity Basses.

I didn't mean it that way. Sorry for wording it that way.

I should have said they share a resemblance.

    Cool Basses though

P.S. Why did Tune go under?

abark000: hey, i was seriously wondering which came first.

i am by no means a Tune freak to the point of arguing design history.

i think the Jackson AG looks pretty cool!!! thanks for pointing them out!!!

oh man, i was talking to my Tune source this morning, he has me kinda freaked. seems Tune was doomed and may even be under some kind of HEX!!!

    i'm scared.

anyone wanna couple of Tune basses????

    ;)
