Young whiskey and a barrel to age it in? That's actually kind cool.

So New Years party at your house to bring in 2031?

I might not even live another 15 years so I'd essentially age it for someone else. :roflmao:

Some book on wines and spirits I was reading suggested not the "barrel + moonshine" approach, but the barrel (keg?) and young (but aged, but not so aged as to be expensive) whiskey, and then adding more (topping it up, not waiting until it ran out) as what you had got used up. Starting from moonshine (un-aged spirits) puts you considerably further out before you might expect to reap the benefits...

Got myself a bluetooth page-turner for sheet music and have a replacement sorbet maker on tap if I can't sort out my $5.31 (including tax) wonder from the thrift store (I got good service from it, considering the price, and I liked it a lot better than my previous ice cream makers.) Gave the cats fresh catnip mice.

  12. Got some clothes and a nice chunk of change to put toward a surround sound system. I also got a strap made from the vinyl from a 60s Mustang. Very cool.

It was a simple Christmas here...
Santa brought me a very cool history of The Who book, a portable blue tooth speaker, some sporting goods items I can't talk about on TB, and a bottle of Macallan.
My wife got a new Macbook Air, and tickets to see Bill Maher.

My daughter was totally sweet and made me a keto-friendly care package with diet soda, pork rinds, cheese, sugar-free orange mints, and three packs of sugar-free gum. And then she individually wrapped every_single_piece just to be cruel. She's definitely my kid.

The new Rolling Stones CD, a note informing me I'd be getting the new Imelda May CD as soon as it's out and tickets for her next tour, socks, another note informing me I'd be getting some new LaBella strings as soon as they ship(tied to a big bar of chocolate), more socks, and a bag of my favourite Tortilla Chips.
Not a bad haul at all!

  19. Got a set of D'Addario Nylon Tapewounds for my Jag shortie.

  20. 18v lithium ion cordless drill and impact driver set - my old Craftsman 12v finally bit the dust over the summer and it sucks being a homeowner and quasi gearhead without a cordless drill. Got some other things too, but this was the best!

Oh, and I bought myself a Fender American Deluxe Jazz that should be here in a few days...8 years of not owning a bass comes to an end. Merry Christmas to me.
