Is that a hair scrunchie on the neck of that bass?

If you use it for muting hte other strings, you may want to take it off and learn to mute the bass without it as I found one of the hardest things when moving to a six was keeping the other strings quiet while I was playing. Its probably a technique best learned in the early days of using a 6 / 7 string bass.

BTW nice bass - now you can start that Lord Only cover band ;)
  8. Congrats, man! They're a great bass. :)

yes, it is a hair scrunchy. but no worries, it is only for use when tapping (and maybe sometimes slapping)

i do not use it for fingerstyle, but it helps tremendously when tapping. i got this idea from victor wooten, but many other great players (bill dickens, progzilla!) use it as well. i still mute the strings regularly when not tapping. :)

EDIT: and ive been using it for about 6 months now on my 4 strings, so i would be lost when trying to tap on a 7 without it :D
  10. Glad you like it. I'm sure you deserve it!

How does it play? is it everything you expected?
  11. CONGRATS DUDE!!! I'm so happy for you!!! WHOA!!!!! BACK UP!!

I don't think my measly abilities entitle me to be cited in the same sentence with the words "great players" and "bill dickens".

    Beautiful bass BTW!!!

    Muchos congratos!!!
