Andreas shark bass

  1. Hey I just picked up NOS Shark one of the original ones from 8/11/00.

I dont know too much about it besides who Andreas is and that TI was bringing them into the states.

I am looking for details of what the side hole by the 22nd fret on the G string side does. And here is a silly Q, I havent opened up the interior of the controls yet, Is the pre amp passive or is there a battery in this barking shark pup.

Its in pristine condition and rings out in bell like tones like a " Glockenklang" ( pun intented) .

Any specific details or owners instructions sheet would be kuhl!

  3. Ok OK!!!! I will post them soon!!! But I got to walk the dog first! Geez

Er xcuse please:) The blue book gave the skinny on this bass' pedigree and said its active but where oh where to look under the preamp plate cavity or by the imput area . They are the only 2 places it could be.

I hate fiddlin with the electronics.

Ill walk the dog bbl and use the mac photo booth to snap some bass porn

BTW there is a nice photo of one if ya do a search. If ya just cant wait till later.:)

I have one of these basses that TI gave me as a gift. ...color is red.

What is the value the book put on it?

That's one with the aluminium fingerboard rather than the red stripe? Did you get the triangular flightcase to go with it?

The hole in the side of the neck is for the truss-rod adjustment.

Nice instruments. I own a Black Shark Guitar, and wish I'd bought one of the basses at the same time...
  6. The bass came without a case it was a NOS sale. I am trying to figure out where the battery cavity is b4 I open everything up.
This one is one of the older models.

    Here is a bod shot

    Very nice...

According to my Andreas 2000-2001 catalogue, it's active pickups/electronics. There doesn't seem to be a separate battery compartment, but I'd have a look at the extra large plate holding the jack socket before unscrewing the plate holding the controls.

BTW where did you get it from and do they have any more?
  8. It was the last of the basses left hanging around I stumbled upon it. It had been in a box with a build date tag gathering dust for the past eight years.

I would love to get a copy of the catalog to read up on the bass. There is no active website for the builder.

These things are ugly as hell. Very Heavy metal looking.

But, at one of the NAMM shows a while back I walked by the Andreas booth and heard one in person. Unbelieveable tone! Excellent, hi-fi sounding bass! The E string had that grand piano tone.
