    The bassist of Oasis.
I saw a live gig on TV where he used a vintage Ampeg SVT ans a 810 cab. In some video rolling on MTV at the moment he poses with an all Orange bass rig.

The gig where he used the Ampeg was just when he had joined Oasis. Maybe he has gone over to Orange lately.

I thought Andy Bell was the lead singer of Erasure - you know, "Chains of Love", etc?

I really wonder why Andy Bell does not play through Ashdown amps.

In fact, I really wonder why not all bassists play through Ashdown amps.

    In fact, I'm just kidding :D :D :D

When Andy Bell first joined Oasis, he used a '60s vintage black Burns Bison. You won't find one for less than £1000 - Japanese collectors are big on Burns, and prices went up after Andy Bell appeared with one.

When I saw Oasis doing 'The Hindu Times' on Top Of The Pops, Bell was playing one of the cheaper Burns London reissue Bisons. I think the Bass Centre stock them for around the £500 mark (?).

As far as amps go, Noel Gallagher took delivery of an Ashdown combo during the recording of the new album, but I've no idea as far as live equipment goes - I think I saw a typical Ampeg 8x10" setup on TOTP.

I heard the band Tindersticks a few times and their bassist used a 60s Burns black Bison and it was an amazing sound - one of the bassiest sounds I've ever heard and great in context, But then everything in Tindersticks sounded wonderful, whereas Oasis sound like crap to me, especially live! ;)

PS I thought Andy Bell was in Erasure as well!

I once had impure thoughts. Oh, and I pluck my ear hair.
Forgive my ignorance, but did the Gallaghers ever sort things out and did Liam rejoin the band?

Here in the states, you don't hear that much about them anymore. I was a pretty big fan a few years ago and would be still if I heard something new that I liked.

PB, they never actually split up... they were on the brink a few years ago while they toured the US, but they eventually managed to sort it out.
