The catalog says it's a 3 way varitone switch to "simplify" eqing. I was nat aware that regular tone knobs were complicated.

I'd love to see one of these in the flesh. I'm thinking it would make a decent carcass for modifications - a new bridge, EMG soapbar, EMG BTC, Hipshot Ultralites - assuming the neck is good.

Genrally, how is the fretwork on these low-end Ibanezes?

I think I just figured out why I like the look - it's very similar to the old Jackson JJ bass.

I think a short scale beater is a great bass to have around. I just picked up a Vantage VS600B. Just to kick around.

  8. theyre in guitar center. Theyre not half bad.

Go ahead and get one. Isnt too pricey.

  9. Yes, these are nice basses and good for a person, like me, with small hands!

For me, they're a great way to warm up on mildly arthritic days. Sometimes, they're all I can play without pain!

I have two at the moment - a DeArmond JetStar and a DeArmond Starfire.
