Another earthquake in Indonesia

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by Mon Rominee, Mar 28, 2005.

  1. http://www.cnn.com ... developing story. Same faultline that caused December's Tsunami.
Evacuations started from what I was told, tv report... Let's pray.

Just heard about this about 20 minutes ago. Let's hope there's no tsunami this time.

It's certainly an odd coincidence that this occurs the day after Easter, when the previous one occurred the day after Christmas.

Is Someone trying to tell us something?
  4. I made the same connection...odd indeed. Wasn't it on x-mas tho?

So, when does Cali fall of the rest of the US?

    Things are getting weird...
  7. Merely coincidence.

That would be a bad thing. I think the Tsunami created by that one would just about cover us down here in Hawaii. May be the mountain tops will still be around.

Looks like the danger of a tsunami hitting are diminishing.

Still tragic, it's like kicking them when they're down.

Radio reports here indicate that if a Tsunami does develop, the quake was such that Southern Africa is would be in the firing line. They estimate a 7 hour travel time for the Tsunami and they are watching the ocean closely.

The population is predominantly Muslim. Apply your particular superstition as desired.

Anyway, our drafting/CADD supervisor was born in Padang, not far from the epicenter. Fortunately his entire family came here 25 years ago.

...didn't we lose Bin Laden in the caves? Maybe they have been working on some big catastophic thing deep in the epi-center of our planet?

That's a little freaky if you ask me.

Thankfully, no Tsunami this time. Though Western Australia was issued with a low level warning after the tides became unpredictable.

Can you imagine the panic that would have taken place in Indonesia? Hell on earth for those people right now.
