Well, well! I know I should've said something, but I decided that over a week ago I would be keeping a very close eye on this, so I kept it as my 'widdle secret!!

I had a big debate with my parents about it, and they finally agree'd to let me have this...
I got up at 4:30am BST to see how much the bass would be, and then I placed my bid.

    -----

its down to _LAST 10 SECONDS_

I refresh the page... "Sorry, you have been outbid", AAAAAH!!!

    damn. :(

i always have 3 windows open at the ending of an auction:

one with the auction window open that i constantly refresh

one with my next bid already placed upto the point wher you have to press: "ok" and the bid goes thru incase i get out bid at the last few seconds

and the thrid with my next higher bid placed in it to the same point, so if my very last bid gets outbid i can then press "ok" in this third window and the bid will be placed.

    normally wins me the auctions.:bassist:

I almost got one of those way back when the thing that stopped me was the headstock was warping off the neck. How are the epiphone grabbers?

Why don't you just bid the maximum amount you'll pay and then wait? Did they change how ebay is set up or something?

yeah, but they used to, they only disscontinued them a year or two ago, So you can still find them on Ebay.

  13. Sniper!!! :D

Hmmm, I never thought of opening a third window. Good idea.

As much of a drag that sniping is, it does save you money. I probably saved 40 or $50 on a TC Electronic G-Major by sniping it in the last seconds instead of bidding my limit before then.

It seems like an unfair practice and in some ways, it kinda is but I've lost too many items that I would have bid higher for because of snipers.

You can usually tell when other snipers are present by watching the counter go up. Because of that, it's probably a good idea to not refresh the page too much because now you've clued them into the fact that you're watching it too.
