Just figured I'd bray about this one. It's an Elrick E-volution 4 string. Crotch Walnut over Swamp Ash with matching headstock. Maple neck with Bubinga fretboard. Dual Bartolini J's,3 band Bartolini EQ, mid select switch, active/passive switch.

I'm not even sure how to describe this bass. Ever play a bass with massive, almost dub-like lows AND midrange punch and then, just by changing technique... cuts like crazy when you slap?

I have;). This is easily one of the most ridiculous 4 strings I've played. Doesn't sound like anything else I own either. Super articulate. Plays itself, no fret noise, just big notes. And it weighs practically nothing... it feels slightly heavier than wearing just the strap;). OTOH it sure doesn't sound light.

    World class stuff.

There should be a limit to how many cool basses one guy can own.

Yeap.. I love elricks.. I played an Evolution 4-stringer when bob From bass-palace was down here over the summer... i went with the 5 string because I really like playing 5s and the tone was killer.. I will admit that the Walnut top is extremely nice.. I just have plain ol' swamp ash.. but I didn't go for looks on this bass :D

This one really does have a unique sound. High definition with lots of grunt. Has nothing in common with the jazz bass sound. I wonder if the Walnut MTD sounded like this?

I stopped by Atomic Music tonight and let a few people check it out. The action and playabilty blew them away.

I'm sitting here playing it and it finally came to me what it sounds like.

    Vic's Monarch. No joke.

  19. Beautiful bass, Brad! You have great taste. I'm pretty much G.A.S.-free right now but that is one of them.

Brad, you're killin' me here. I'm tryin' to stop gassin' as a New Years resolution, but the thought of another Elrick won't go away! Beautiful bass. Do you find it takes alot of knob travel to get the effects you want? I do, but maybe it's the Aero P'UPs.
