You know if he had it listed at $1500 with no reserve we might believe the story ;)

I was doubting the price until I saw "The original neck was cracked and warped; however replaced with a premium Warmoth burled-maple 24-fretless neck"

Jeebus. You could probably buy the actual bass of doom for 50k.... (Well probably not)

That ain't nothin'. See, I got Thomas Jefferson's bass, Leo's 1776 prototype, in my closet. Found it at a garage sale a couple weeks ago, and bought it from an old lady for twenty bucks. Public-minded citizen that I am, I offered it to the Smithsonian, but haven't heard back from them yet. If they don't want it, guess I'll put it on Craigslist for $5,000,000, or something... :wacky:

Sounds like my bass. Maybe Jaco owned my bass too!

If you really want a laugh, follow the link in the thread to his personal site. Make sure your speakers are on because some of his music will autoplay. While you're absorbing his playing, and believe me it will take more than one listen, see if you can find where he claims to have been James Brown's bassist.

    Now that is comedy.
