another one of thoose 'best strings" threads

    so here it is, i love my spector six, but am looking for some strings that will make sound less like i am playing with a pick when im not, some help? the bass is a spector legend 6

    d'adario XL's nickel wound..... smooth yet bright.

    Steels are brighter sounding
    Nickels smoother and warmer sounding
    Nickels are less shiny looking to me.

    are the rotosound 77s flatwounds nickel or steel?

    >>> Technically the Rotosound 77 flatwounds are made of an alloy called Monel. It's primarily nickel, with some copper and iron thrown in the mix. It is supposed to be extremely resistant to corrosion. The Rotosound flats are very different from other flatwound strings. You might like them, you might not. I'll string up a bass with them occasionally...
