Powerwise, the QSC PLX 1602 would be adequate for my needs, bridged into two 8 ohm cabs. The 2402 bridged is another option. The 1602 has Class AB output circuitry. The 2402 has Class H (2-step)output circuitry and "Advanced Thermal Management". Is this any reason to spend a couple hundred more dollars and "move up" to the 2402?
So does the PLX 1602. The only difference between them that means anything significant to the end user is the different power points. The Class H output circuit in the PLX 2402 is just a more efficient variant on Class AB, and that's only important because the PLX 2402 is a more powerful model and benefits more from the higher efficiency.
