    Hi!

Just thought I'd post a couple pics of the updated family. My latest is the black Sadowsky 4 in the back with the tortoise guard. It's the heaviest of the 3 but sounds fantastic with the maple board. I just put a Sadowsky pre in the 3 color burst Pensa 5. That sounds fantastic, too. I hope everyone enjoys the pics!!

    Hi!

Joker, my address and whereabouts are classified!

Rick, I could use 2 or 3 extra pairs of hands!

Or I could just sell a couple pieces:)

Thanx for all the kind words. I usually don't spout off about my gear but I'm really enjoying the present batch of basses in my possession. The Sad's are tremendous, the Pensa is surprisingly nice, the Fodera is beautiful, the '67 is nice to look at and the Alembic is retired!

Look, I can't stand it anymore! That Pensa is lonely! Send her to me for comforting!

  15. Just curious about specs of the new Sadowsky...alder? maple? what pups?, you know I have one on order and I am curios how the maple board and the rosewood differ...which do you prefer and why?

    thanks,

    Hi!

Tommix, they all sound a bit different. The 5 string is the deepest sounding of them. Alder, ebony board, Sadowsky p/u's and pre. The blue 4 is a pj pickup setup. Ash, morado board, can sound jazzy or precisiony(is that a word?!). The black 4jj pickups, ash, maple board. More attack at the front of the note, not quite as deep as the other two, all settings being the same. The black 4 kinda funky sounding, good for slap. The blue 4 sounds good on any type of song. The 5 shakes the room!! The blue 4 plays the best, IMO. I hope this helps. I think we spoke by PM when you ordered yours. You're gonna love it! They just don't disappoint!

    Best of luck

    HI!

Smash, here are some pics of the '67. It's a nice old bass, built Jan 1967. I'd prefer a '65, same year as me!!!:)

    HI!

I moved east in the spring. I grew up here. Yours seems to be more of a mid '60's replica. A '75 would probably have a maple board with white blocks. I'm not up on Fender reissues. Maybe someone who knows will read this and reply. Best of luck

  20. Sorry I did not get back sooner I have been out of town for a couple days working...Yes that was me that you spoke to with PM! I can't wait to get my Saddy...I have been toying with the idea of switching my board to a maple instead of morado but I just can't get up the nerve to do it!!! So many things to consider...I don't have but 2 Maple necked basses and I rarely play either and I am afraid that I just would not dig the Sad as much in maple. My gut tells me that the morado will be a better player and tonall a bit better matched to what I need!!...Decisions!!

    Thanks

    Tommixx
