    Hey dudes,

What difference does it make to plug my efx pedals in via the effects send/return versus going from BASS->SANSAMP->CHORUS->AMP? And what difference would it make to do the same with my tuner? (i.e. tuner in on amp vs. bass->tuner->etc)

    thanks in advance!

  2. Effects pedals are generally designed to be used in front of your preamp.

I reserve the effects loop for line level rack mount processors, i.e., compressors, sonic maximizer, noise gate, anything that excepts a line level signal.

    IMHO

  3. I never use effects on bass, but with guitar, distortion/ drive based effects work best in front of the preamp, time based effects (delays, chorus etc) seem to work better in the FX loop. I don't see why this would be different for bass.
