    HELLO,
    i dont usually post over here as i dont play upright bass. however i thought that this might be of some interest to you folks. i manage a cd store in atlanta and:

    i just got in a really cool boxset at work. it is called:
    HOW LOW CAN YOU GO:ANTHOLOGY OF THE STRING BASS 1925-1941.

    3 cd's and a 96 page booklet 79+ tracks. i havent head it yet but looks real cool. i just wanted to let everyone know.

    Yeah -- I have this!

    My kids think it sounds like "Tom & Jerry" music!

    Actually, it's quite amazing how many "no name" bassists were swinging and thumping their butts off back then. I need to dig back through this collection again soon...lots of great songs...so many great bass breaks...
