Any Aerodyne players out there?

Just got one & have some questions. Been a regular Jazz Bass player for a long time, this seems to be a completely different beast. Plays great, looks beautiful, but the pickup response is for poopie. Normal for this model? Remedy? Already looking at replacement pickups, but wouldn't mind a few insider tips on this bass, thanx!
