Any bigos lovers out there?

    I've loved this dish ever since a Polish friend of mine turned me on to it a few years ago.

    For those who don't know, it's an East European stew recipe made with sauerkraut, cabbage, Vieska sausage and other smoked meats, often with tomatoes and mushrooms and very strongly seasoned. Delicious for those of us who prefer robust flavours over subtlety.

    Plenty of recipes online, Dave - and dead easy to make. I recommend you try it. When I did, I was amazed and saddened that I'd gone so many years before finding out about it! :D

    It's pronounced "bigosh" by the way. At least, that's what my Polish friend calls it.

    Hey! I've had this with venison and sausage in it...in a bread bowl...it was really really hearty and good (and yes, pretty "spicy"). Man, it's been some time though...I would sure love some right now.

    Hover - yeah, venison is a common choice to put in this, as is the bread bowl serving. Delish!

    I just googled it (fricot) - sounds great. I love dumplings with a stew.
