Running a GK 700rb2 into an 8ohm 2x12. Thinking about adding a 16 ohm 1x12 can on top. Any problems I might run into?

  2. As long as the speakers are all the same you should be good to go.

Any issue running just the 1x12? 16 ohms a safe load for a SS amp?

The amp should see a 5.3 ohm load which it will handle with no problems.

  5. 16 ohms is safe. I believe your amp minimum is 4 ohms. So, any number greater than or equal to 4 is safe.

The amp will be fine with that and as long as you don't over power the speaker you should be fine, might reduce the speaker life if its driven into fart mode.:bassist:

  7. 3x12 all the same stacked up will sound super.

Nothing wrong with it at all....in fact, that's the proper right way to do it when using an odd number of speakers, like 3 or 6.

OK, 6 is actually an even number, but you know what I mean.

    This,

With the single 12 being 16ohms it will see the same power as each speaker in the 212 cab.

I would add another 8ohm 2x12. Just to keep things simple.

Except that even the same speakers in different enclosures can exhibit different phase response. No different than mixing a random 2x10 and 1x15 really...
