So, anyone with any experience with Yamaha's new BB2004/5 models?

Certainly they look attractive on paper and their little brothers that cost half their price have been complimented. At $1200, one of these would be right in my price range.. I have no idea how they would compare against Warwick Thumb, though.

My experience with yamaha stuff is the more expensive it is, the better off you are going with a different brand. Their cheap stuff has greak bang for the buck, but I don't know many people that play the high end stuff. For that price, get a lakland 55-02

  4. IME Yamahas are actually all good in the "bang for the buck" category, but all pricey basses aren't as good in that category as cheaper ones ( law of diminishing returns)
