I don't currently have any sort of recording apparatus, and I'd like to acquire one asap, as I write alot of music for myself and my band. digital recorders look promising because they are an all-in-one unit for a relatively inexpensive price. I got the AMS catalogue and the Zoom HD16 was listed. I looked it up online, and it looks promising, especially because of the on-board drum machine/midi sampler. does anyone have any experience with this unit, or recommendations for a better one?
Never tried one, but I'd love to check it out. I always thought of Zoom as budget stuff, but I *adore* my H2. P.S. Here are some reviews on Sweetwater's site: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/HD16CD/reviews/
I just bought the Zoom HD8. Same unit but 8 tracks instead of 16. I'm just learning how to use it right now. It seems like a lot for the money(good value). The drum patterns in there sound really good. I'm having some fun with it and really glad I bought it.
