I have a chance to get a much older model of these for $350 already put together. http://www.musikit.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=bass It uses lighter gauge strings and is smaller in body so it dosent have as full of a sound as a regular upright but it is the same scale and seems to be better quality then some of ebay uprights.Any info would help greatly.

Musikit is a neat company, but (1) you can't bow it and (2) judging from the MP3, it doesn't sound very good. That walnut neck and fingerboard is going to wear out fast. I wonder what kind of strings they're selling for $149? I wouldn't put anything higher tension than weed wackers on it.

For $350- well, I'd say that's a fair price, and if you didn't like it you could probably turn around and sell it for that. But if you're looking for real UB feel and sound, you're going to be disappointed.
