Any good HATS?

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by CauliColin, Oct 28, 2012.

I am looking for a comfy hat which I could wear on stage. I have a rather big head and have fairly large hair (essentially an afro). I am not keen on fedora hats, but I'm just seeing what you guys think?

I usually wear pork pie, trilby or a flat cap. One of my favorite stores is Goorin Bros. unfortunately I live about 10 minutes from one of their stores.

I just picked up a purple pimp hat on CL, that'll be my stage hat. At least once.

  8. Me too. I need a 17 3/4 or an XXL. I have a number of hats but usually wear a Cardinals baseball hat or a Filson Packer hat:

Waterproof, cool and packs flat; thus the name. I have the same hat with quilted lining for the winter. Not my most stylish hat by far, but the one I usually wear.

If you play a Fodera, you should wear a Fedora.

I have a Filson hat that makes me look like the crazy old coot from the northwoods that I am.

I have a few like that but without the logo. After mentioning that you called yours that once here, mine got abbreviated to 'HAM hats'.

I have a rock n' roll type black fedora. I have a Kangol Tropic Spitfire (worn backward a la Sam Jackson). I have an Outdoor Research Transit sun hat (not really "cool" or for gigging, but great for camping or any summer outdoor activity). I have a Kangol wool "Monty" British WWII-style beret. Aside from a fleece watch cap I wear out in cold weather, that's pretty much it for hats. I have 2-3 others, but I don't wear them anymore.

Kangol is the hot name i hats these days. I own two and I've bought another for my dad.
  18. This is my stage hat:

I have five of those; 3 Kangol, 1 Guinness and another that looks cool. They're my go-to hat.
