Any Good Stores in NYC Area

    Guys,
    In January and small group from my school is taking a field trip to Washington D.C. and New York. I've talked to the sponsors and they say some of the time in NY we have time to walk around and maybe go into some stores that we want to look at and he told me that if I found out the location of some music stores that there's a possibility I could do some shopping. So here's my question what are some good music stores in the downtown NYC area like between 42nd and 49th and that area. Any of the big name players like Guitar Center or Mars? Thanks for any help.

    You'll be right in the middle of a bunch of stores, Check out the stores on 48th St. like Mannys, Rudys, etc and then go to 1600 Broadway for Sadowsky and NY Guitar & Bass Boutique.

    There's practically nothing in DC.

    I haven't shopped there lately, but all around Sam Ashe are many other shops. I think it's in the mid 40's. The whole freakin street is music shops.
