I'd say any stainless steel string, hex core, round would work too.
    I'll just say DR Lo-beams.

D'addario XL's (Nickel Steel) or ProSteel XL's (Stainless Steel)

Bright, crisp, and punchy.. affordable.. and they last a long time.

Rotosound Swing Bass though DiMarizo Model P.

    Lots of nasty growl!

  5. I've been using SIT Powerwounds for some time now. I will use nothing else. We play loud edgey classic rock and I play with a pick. Great sound and I have never broken one. And they are not expensive. :)

In my metal days I used LaBella Hard Rockin' Steels then I switched to D'Addario Prosteels. I've mellowed out and used XL's (nickels) but they still work for rock.

Dean Markely SR2000 will lee guage sounded the best for me for metal, but I broke many of them due to the extreme taper winding.
