Darkglass logo - hmmm? Ernie Ball bought Darkglass? Well, there's my guess.
And I thought it was going to be another Joe Dart bass...maybe something with a nice, Bleached Barndoor Grey finish!
Any idea who the person is in the picture? Actual bassist or just a model?
A Stingray with a DG preamp might be kind of cool.
A wide 5...
Did @LowEndLobster just influence Stingrays to go Darkglass on their preamps!?
Ernie Ball has bought Dark Glass and will introduce the all new music man sterling bongo dark glass caprice
Quickly followed by the Sterling by Music Man Dark Glass Sub Sterling Music Man Bongo Caprice
Then the OLP version
I was thinking that maybe they’re coming out with their own line of hoodies and checker board sneakers.
Then again, I’ve been wrong before.
A new multiscale Stingray limited release, the "Djenty Delight".
The circle of light is referenced on the bass - looks like a backwards C. Must mean something...
They probably worked with Darkglass on a preamp.
I think I have read some people think the preamp on the lower end Sterling basses sounds better than the real deal, so maybe it's time.
End of an era if true. Musicman is always changing, so it sounds about right. I remember 21 years ago every musicman guitar seemed to have a birdeye maple neck, like it was an expected feature, but that didn't last very long.
is it a reflection of some sort or does that pot glow? Does it indicate the volume by emitting more or less light?
It looks like that now that you mention it.
I like the lights Fender has on their effects pedals, a glowing ring around a knob might be a bit out of place IMO. LED's also drain batteries, but maybe they made the preamp rechargeable like Fishman is doing. Lithium ion batteries scare me tbh, I've seen too many videos where they turn into rocket engines.
It's called the 'FlameChanger'. The glowing knob will adjust the temp of your 'Big Poppa' gas grill, your home furnace, or your gas fireplace through a clever bluetooth interface and phone app. Millions of possible temperature combinations to choose your best zone from. Of course after a few years they will drop support for it.
A new range of extra length straps?
34” Ray with the passive electronics of the short scale Stringray? I’d like that!
Go one better though? Well maybe not better but super cool - a Caprice with the short scale stingray pickup instead of the J bridge pickup. A P/MM configuration would also eliminate the odd Caprice with neck-dive.
