any help with Cheap Trick - Don't be Cruel

    A very cool bass line --- can someone help?

    For one, it's played on a 12-string bass with the E strings tuned down to D. Other than that, the bass line is a fairly standard walking blues line, using mostly major pentatonic.

    I'm aware of his 12 string bass --- but he's playing a 4-string in the original '88 video.



    Is he just going up and down the scale?

    Nope.... that's a checkered Hamer B12A... on a stand to make it look like an upright.

    Most of the song is in G major, with a key change (modulation) to A major later in the tune. The beginning descending riff is A G F# E D C B A G....

    Other than that.... maybe look for a program to slow it down, or find some tab somewhere.
